Drive Sales using Pintrest

Drive Sales using Pintrest

Your small business needs more sales to stay open. And it’s vital that your team focuses on a strategy now, rather than later.

Social media is an effective method to grab the attention of your target audience. Moreover, Pinterest lets your consumers connect visually with your products.

Learn why Pinterest is the best option for your bottom line.

Why Pinterest

Research shows that the average order value of sales generated by Pinterest is 10% higher than any other major social platform.

Pinterest offers your business the opportunity to showcase products. You can create multiple boards based on shopping patterns, consumer interests, or even holiday trends.

Consider this social media platform the new form of window shopping. It’s up to your team to display what’s best about your services and overall brand.

“Most people save or pin things on Pinterest in order to get ideas for future purchases, so if you are selling something online, you should have a well-established Pinterest presence. This is especially true if you sell physical items like apparel, accessories, gadgets, and the like,” states Chandru Rao, a researcher and writer at Around.io.

Work with your team to develop a Pinterest sales strategy. Monitor prospective customers’ habits and build awareness for your brand.

It’s time to incorporate Pinterest into your small business plan.

1. Use Rich Pins

Rich pins allow small business owners to include additional information to images. These enhanced pins offer you the chance provide consumers with real-time pricing and availability.

In short, rich pins make it convenient for people to buy your items. They take the guesswork out of consumers’ product research. Rather than going to multiple websites, buyers can find product descriptions in one location.

In the rich pin below, you’ll notice the product’s price, where it is sold, and a ‘Visit’ button to learn more. In addition, you can read comments from other people about the product.

3. Post High-Quality Images

Pinterest thrives on visuals. So, it’s imperative to share amazing photos.

Studies reveal that images without faces get repinned more 23% more often. Therefore, avoid the human face.

4. Target Relevant Audiences

Know your audience. It’s the #1 rule for small businesses.

If you fail to reach your target consumer, it’s unlikely that you’ll close the sale. Plus, you waste your team’s precious time and energy.

You need to understand your customers’ likes, dislikes, and lifestyles. This includes studying their demographics, geographics, and psychographics.

At the end of the day, your team should know when, where, why, and how your consumers make purchases.

Once you grasp your buyers’ desires, you can build useful content. Post pins that relate to your products or services.

What is WEB HOSTING

What is WEB HOSTING

When you want to start a business in the real world, you need a physical location to set up, store, and sell your products. And the same rules apply in the digital world.

When you set up an online business, you have a series of files, images, and HTML code that make up your website. These files take up space and need a place to live. Without an online home, your files would just sit on your computer and no one would ever see them. Web hosting companies provide a place on a server to store all of your files and are responsible for delivering the files of your website as soon as a browser makes a request by typing in your domain name.

When you pay a web hosting company, you are simply renting storage space on the internet — just like you would rent a physical store for your business.

Domain Names

Before we go into more depth, let’s talk about domain names. When you first thought about starting an online business, you purchased a domain name. A domain name is your company’s address on the internet.

Think of it this way: if you are renting space at a physical location for your business, you give customers your street address so they can find you. If you are renting space on the internet, you give customers your domain name.

Whenever someone types in your domain name, it is converted into an IP address. The hosting company then locates all the files connected to your IP address and returns all of the pictures, videos, and words that make up your website.

Just like every street address is unique, so is every domain name. Whenever you start a new website, you get the opportunity to choose a name that perfectly reflects your brand.

Types of Web Hosting

If you are looking to host a website, Linkedware provides several different packages to suit your needs.

Shared Hosting

Shared hosting is the most common type of web hosting and is suitable for most online business owners. With shared hosting, several customers share storage space on one powerful server. There are several advantages to shared hosting including:

  • Affordability — It’s much cheaper to share the space on a server than to rent the entire machine.
  • Ease of use — Your server is preconfigured, well-organized, easy to use, and your hosting company does all the maintenance and security updates for you.
Dedicated Hosting

Rather than sharing space, you get a server all to yourself if you choose a dedicated hosting package. Advantages to dedicated hosting include:

  • Customization — You can customize the software and hardware to meet your individual needs
  • Unlimited Resources — Since you don’t share the server with anyone, all the storage space is yours.
  • Full control — You can configure the setup however you’d like.
VPS Hosting

Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting includes all the features of a dedicated server, but at the price point of a shared server. Here are some of the top reasons VPS hosting might be a great fit:

  • Functionality — Full Root Access – Maximum Utilization
  • No one share it with you — Ensures centralized storage, maximum utilisation and greater flexibility.
  • Easy site navigation —VPS allows each website to be fully independent as if each were on its own separate machine.
Content writing for Small Business Owners

Content writing for Small Business Owners

Part of building a new website involves writing content that describes your business and your services or products. If writing doesn’t come naturally to you and you haven’t had any practice at it, this can be the most daunting process of creating your site. But before you become overwhelmed by blank pages and blinking cursor on your screen, take a deep breathe and check out these 6 tips. They’ll help you write professional, effective, and easy-to-read content:

6 Content Writing Tips

Tip 1: Think About Your Readers: This is the golden rule, but it is also the one that is broken often. People will visit your website because they are looking for a solution to a problem – they need or desire something that you sell. In other words, when a visitor goes to your website they are thinking about their problem. Why then do so many business websites begin by telling that visitor how long they’ve been in business, or how large their warehouse is? None of this information matters to your visitor. Instead you should focus on them – tell them that you understand their problem and you have a solution.

Tip 2: Write In The 2nd Person: Don’t worry, we are not going to get technical on this. The second person simply means using the word “you” a lot in your content. This article is a good example – it doesn’t describe the personal experience of the writer and it is not talking about a third person. Instead it is talking to you, and suggesting that you should use the word you a lot in the content that you write. See, it’s easy.

Tip 3: Use Simple Sentences And Short Words: Your website is not a place to get all stuffy and formal. Also, big words and long sentences do not mean smart and intelligent. To prove this point you should have a look at the writing style guide for The Economist. It uses George Orwell’s six elemental rules. Rule number two is to never use a long word when a short one will do.

Tip 4: Break Up the Text: Long blocks of text are hard to read. Also, they don’t match how people use the internet. Think about how you read a web page. You probably skim until you get to piece of information that interests you. To help your readers do this and make your pages easier to read, break up your text by using shorter paragraphs. You should also use headings and bullet point lists to break up the text. For an example, just look at the article you are reading now.

Tip 5: Get To The Point: When writing content for your website you will have to strike a balance between giving as much information as possible, and keeping that content short. One way to do that is to get to the point as soon as possible. In other words, drop anything that is not related to your visitor’s problem (remember that?) from your homepage, product pages, or services pages. Also, highlight your most important benefit or unique selling point first.

Tip 6:  Remember SEO: SEO is important when writing web content, but it is deliberately placed on this list at position six as you should write for your visitors first and search engines second. To achieve this write with your visitors in mind and then go over it to alter sentences to make better use of keywords. Only do this if your sentences make sense before. One other thing you should do is include the keyword/s of your page in your headings.

Tip 7: Spell Check: This one doesn’t really need an explanation. But don’t forget to do it.

Tip 8: Get Someone Else To Proofread: Finally, get someone else to proofread your content. Even the most experienced writers get others to check their work. They will spot mistakes and clunky sections that you may have missed.
